Ashtanga Yoga Mysore

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a complete system through which you can gain physical stability and the possibility of mental and psychological freedom. It strengthens the body and makes you stand erect in your spine and in your life.

As you learn the series and your own practice, your focus and experience become more refined and you begin to really notice your breathing, your alignment, the opposing forces in your body and the effect of steadiness on your mental state. Through this mental stability, you become more aware of your life, seeing situations and people more clearly as well as your own role in all of it.

And of course the best of all, is the feeling you get at the end of the class, every time, where you feel your body strengthened, maybe even pleasantly tired from the effort, your mind empty, your skin softened, and you have a sweet smile on your face!

Hatha Yoga

Body practices, breathing techniques and meditation, all in one class!

In hatha yoga, action and pause alternate, and we get to remember this experience, our right and our need to pause. Yogic philosophy, art and music enrich our practice by offering us an experience where all the senses are involved.

The class begins with a short relaxation practice to bring the mind to the present so we can get the most out of the practice. We continue with asana practices, postures that exercise the body, develop flexibility and strength.

Next we learn to breathe! Pranayama practices (breathing practices) help us to become familiar with the mechanism of breathing and to see how this very basic process, when done correctly, can change our mood, as the diaphragm is also called the muscle of the soul due to its direct relationship of with our psychological state.

We conclude with a practice of deep relaxation, yoga nidra, introductory to meditation practices, which is one of the tantric practices and discharges physical, mental and emotional tensions, leaving us with a feeling of lightness and rejuvenation.

Ashtanga Made Easy

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a fairly dynamic system that is appropriate and available to all levels of practitioners. However, some students may prefer a more gradual approach, tailored to their own needs.

This class has as its foundation the knowledge and wisdom behind traditional Ashtanga practice and in a gentler way can increase the strength and flexibility of the body, improve the concentration of the mind, and strengthen our immunity through breathing.

The practitioner is guided through the various asanas (body positions) with the appropriate variation for his/her personal needs, emphasizing breathing and observing the body.

This class can also be considered as an introduction to Ashtanga method, while remaining a complete practice in itself.

Psychology in Yoga

This class is an inspiring and innovative synthesis of neuroscience and neurobiology combined with traditional Hatha Yoga techniques.

How do emotions arise? In what way are they expressed in the body? Where are they stored in the body? How does the brain work? How can I relieve the body?

These are some of the questions that will be approached in our weekly group sessions. We will cultivate emotional awareness and identify the expression and emotional imprint of emotions on the body. We will re-educate our perspective on emotions and learn ways to manage them through body, breath and meditation practices.

The first part of the session is a the discussion and exploration of an emotion (how an emotion arises, neurobiological background, the expression and the imprint on the body, where it is stored in the body). A short discussion follows and then we move on to the practices: asana, breathing and meditation, all related to and based on the discussion of the first part.

In that way, it is the experiences and needs of each team member that define the practice!
